I'm always happy to meet a new reader! Glad to hear you liked Sandpiper. I don't actually have any plans for a sequel to it at the moment, but I hope you'll try one of my other books, maybe Heart on my Sleeve or Razzle. Or any one that interests you!

I'm so glad to hear you've fallen in love with Marisol! She's one of my favorite of my characters too. Since you liked these books I would recommend next trying RAZZLE and ZIGZAG. I don't have plans for another Marisol book at the moment, but you never know!

I am completely and utterly in love with your book Hard Love. I have read it ten times and it still seems new when I'm done. It is one of my favorite books (tied with Perks of Being a Wallflower). Hard Love gets me through all the hard times I'm going through. Thanks so much for writing an awesome book. I still need to buy Love and Lies >_< Reply: Hi Sylvia,
Thank you for the awesome note! So glad that Hard Love has helped you when you've needed it. I hope you'll read L & L too and let me know how you like it.
Best, Ellen

Marisol is one of my favorite characters too and I'd love to follow her for another book, but I'm not sure Simon & Schuster would be willing to do another one. The publishing climate is terrible right now and your books have to sell A LOT before the publisher wants a sequel. But Marisol is alive and well in me and in my fabulous readers.

I just wanted to say thank you. Your book Parrotfish helped me discover myself and that it's okay to be yourself, no matter what other people might think or say. Because there is absolutely nothing worse than pretending to be something you're not. And I think it's safe to say that I've been pretending for a very long time. So, anyway, thank you, so much. For coming up with the idea to write the book, to actually writing it. Thank you. Reply: Dear Katy,
Thank you SO much for letting me know that the book spoke to you. It is precisely for young people like you who spent years being confused about your gender that I wanted to write this book. I wish you all the best in finding your true self and becoming comfortable with yourself in the world.
Best, Ellen

The personal loans suppose to be useful for people, which would like to organize their own career. As a fact, it's very easy to receive a car loan. |

Glad to hear you're a Hard Love fan. If you've read Love and Lies you know that John and Diana DO get together in that one. I don't actually have plans for another sequel at the moment. Good luck with your writing!

I reread Hard Love today. The last time I read it was 2 years ago. It's a fantastic novel and I love it. I love every character. They all bring a smile to my face, in some way. Reply: Thanks, Diana.
You brought a smile to my face too!

Just wanted to say what a treat and pleasure it was to hear you speak at our conference on Saturday. You had me alternately in stitches and in tears, and even in the dark (though I am not entirely sure that was your fault, I know you could have accomplished it if you wanted to!) You are the first writer for younger audiences I have heard talk about playwriting and how the love of dialogue really connects across all forms. I had my first play published this year, and it won the Shubert Fendrich Award for 2009. I just wanted to say thank you for entertaining and inspiring writers and readers of all ages, and taking the time to visit us. Reply: Hi Laurie,
Thanks so much! I had a great time in Poughkeepsie--such a fun conference. Congratulations on your playwriting award! There is actually quite a bit of crossover between playwriting and YA -- Adam Rapp, Paul Zindel, Jules Feiffer -- I know there are others but I'm blanking on them. It's a well-traveled path.
Best, Ellen
